michael sarpong:

I’m Michael Sarpong, a product designer and builder working across design, engineering and product strategy. I sit in that space where ideas are still messy and try to turn them into something real, usable and scalable all while driving growth for the business. I truly believe functionality and aesthetics can coexist even though "form follows function" has been part of my work flow lately.

A lot of my work blends design and building. I’ll move between shaping systems, designing experiences and building user interfaces when it helps things move faster. Lately, I’ve also been exploring how Ai tools can speed up that loop, not as a replacement for thinking but as a way to get to clarity quicker. Spoiler "I co-built this website with Ai, especially the backend bit".

I’ve also co-founded BuukMeNow, where that mindset really came alive. Being close to both the product and the execution has shaped how I think, more iterative, more hands-on and more focused on shipping and learning than perfect plans.

Outside of work, I write and share thoughts around product, design and how we build things. I spend time in product communities as well, mostly learning from others and sharing what I’m figuring out along the way. I’m especially interested in how design, engineering and Ai are changing what small teams are able to build.

Outside of work, you’ll catch me skating (inlines, not rollers) to cool off or hunting down a cup of medium-roasted freshly brewed coffee. Travelling is my next big thing. I want to see the world and experience as many cultures as I can. I love me a good book with great music, the kind you can completely get lost in.
